While Mumbai is filled with modern restaurants and polished cocktail bars, sometimes the most memorable experiences come from places that stay true to their roots. Sandeep Bar in Mulund is one of those places that naturally feels authentic, comfortable, and refreshingly unpretentious from the moment you walk in.
Whether you are planning a family dinner, catching up with friends over drinks, or simply craving good non-vegetarian food, Sandeep Bar manages to deliver a genuinely satisfying experience. The place balances old-school Mumbai bar culture with a relaxed dining atmosphere that still feels welcoming today.

The second caught our attention due to the amazing vintage interiors, which instantly stood out and gave the space a nostalgic charm that is difficult to find in newer restaurants. Instead of modern flashy décor, the restaurant leans into a more classic Mumbai bar identity that actually adds character to the experience.
The atmosphere feels comfortable and familiar rather than overly curated. It is the kind of place where people settle in for long conversations, drinks, and comforting food without feeling rushed. Despite being a bar, the space also works very well for family dining and casual group outings.

We started with a Budweiser Magnum along with Schezwan Chakli, which turned out to be a great snack to pair with drinks. While it was not complimentary, it worked perfectly as a simple bar bite to begin the evening.
One of the more unexpected dishes we tried was the Palak Soup and Peas Fry. It sounded unusual at first, but it ended up being one of the most enjoyable parts of the meal. The flavors felt comforting, homely, and surprisingly memorable.
The standout dish of the night was easily the Chicken Bullet; it immediately grabbed everyone’s attention because of the steam, sizzling sounds, and smoky aroma coming off the plate. Apparently, the dish is briefly set on fire during preparation before being served, which explains the dramatic presentation. More importantly, the flavor completely lived up to the experience.
The portion was so filling that we eventually paired it with rotis and turned the appetizer into a full meal. For anyone who enjoys non-vegetarian food, this is definitely one of the dishes worth trying at Sandeep Bar.

One of the best parts about Sandeep Bar is how affordable the overall experience feels. Our total bill came to INR 1,536, which felt more than reasonable considering the quantity of food and drinks we ordered.
At a time when many restaurants focus heavily on aesthetics and premium pricing, Sandeep Bar keeps things simple. The focus here is clearly on good food, generous portions, and a relaxed dining experience rather than trends or social media appeal.
Nothing about the place feels forced or overly polished, right from the vintage interiors and amazing food to the affordable pricing and old-school Mumbai vibe, everything comes together in a way that feels genuinely authentic. While the Chicken Bullet was the highlight of this visit, the menu clearly has much more to explore. It is the kind of place that immediately makes you want to come back again with friends or family for another meal.
If you are looking for an authentic Mumbai bar experience with satisfying non-vegetarian food and a comfortable atmosphere, Sandeep Bar in Mulund is absolutely worth visiting.
